DEAN'S UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL FUND

Partial funding is provided for students to travel to national conferences for the purpose of presenting their course projects. The projects MUST be completed as requirements of a course registered within the MD program, e.g. bioethics project in Community Health. Research projects not directly related to course work (e.g. SRTP, SWOMEN, research with independent researchers) are not eligible for funding.

The application, if approved, will provide partial funding for only up to 3 students per project to present at a conference. Dr. Rieder, on behalf of the Clerkship Education Committee, normally gives special permission for only 1 student to present for each project, but there is discussion at CEC (subject to approval) to allow 3 students to present when a compelling case can be made for it. Final disbursement of funding will require confirmation that the submitted abstract has been accepted for presentation at the intended conference.

These awards are given out twice a year with deadlines of November 1st and May 1st.

Applications should be forwarded to Dr. Chan.

For full information, see the Terms of Reference for the award.
