The goal of the Western Heads East project is to establish probiotic yogurt programs in Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. The first site was initiated in Mwanza, Tanzania and has become the regional headquarters of the project.  They provide probiotic yogurt free of charge for more than 150 people living with AIDS and are seeking subsidy to pay for the yogurt for those who cannot afford to buy it. Western Heads East raises awareness about the impact of AIDS at the University, fundraises and sends student interns to their sites in Africa.
