Med school at Schulich isn't just about classes and studying!
Our schedule allows for and encourages extracurricular activities, and with over
60 active student groups to choose from, odds are you'll find something to interest you. (And if not, you
can always start your own group!)

We've got everything from aquatics to yoga, singing to stitching, writing to radiology, and lots more!
Some of the more unique groups at Schulich include:
- Cooking with Kids -- An interactive program that allows medical students to educate children from grades 1-8 about food and body issues.
- Global and Ecosystem Health Interest Group -- Promoting a broad understanding of health, including the vitality & sustainability of the socio-economic, political and biological ecosystems.
- Inter-generational Gala -- Students and seniors enjoy a formal evening of dinner and dance.
- Meds Hot Yoga Club -- Come on out and let’s get sweaty!
- Neuroscience Community Outreach Group -- NCOG members educate the community about neuroscience and safety measures to protect the nervous system.
- Osler Society -- The Osler Society is the history of medicine club at UWO.
- SEGA - The Schulich Electronic Gaming Association -- Social video gaming for all experience levels; from n00b to pwnage.
- Stitch n' Bitch -- A knitting club for guys and girls - beginners and experts welcome!
- UWOMJ (The University of Western Ontario Medical Journal) -- To provide a forum for original articles based on research or clinical medicine of topic or historical interest.

There are many opportunities to participate in sports while in medical school at UWO. Western has a brand new athletics facility and there are meds teams in most of the intramural leagues including:

- Innertube Waterpolo
- Beach Volleball
- Indoor Volleball
- Basketball
- Dodgeball
- Curling
- Ultimate Frisbee
- Flag Football

There are also a few 1st and 2nd year medical students who play on UWO varsity teams.
