National Opportunities
Whether home for you during the summer is out of province or if you want to use the summer break to both see Canada and do something productive, there are tons of opportunities out there for med students. Take a peak at our National Opportunities. Here you will find clinical electives, research awards as well as other job opportunities that can take you outside of Ontario for your summer months.
Looking for some extra clinical experience? We've got formal elective opportunities on the East Coast as well as Alberta-but don't think that your travels are limited by these programs. Many students find that setting up their own electives works to their advantage- to get you started we've included the contacts for medical schools across the country. Check out students' opinions of these opportunities to get a better idea of what you can expect!
Research more your thing? There are funds available for almost anything that piques your interest. With the awards listed here, you are not limited to research done at UWO. In fact, many of these awards are tenable at any institution in Canada. Many of these awards require that you find your own supervisor before submitting your application, so read the info carefully!
Hoping to avoid both hospitals and labs? Why don't you use your stellar MCAT skills to help others master the test or use your extra energy working at summer camps with children who have diabetes.
